FAQs About Electrical Repairs &Upgrades

The electrical systems of every property are responsible for providing power to everything in them. Electrical systems are large, complex, and delicate. They require constant attention and occasional upgrades & repairs. When it comes to electrical work, few property owners understand them. They have many questions surrounding it including when they should hire a local electrician to perform necessary work. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions that we receive from clients:

  • Do you work with commercial and residential clients?

Yes, we serve as both residential and commercial electricians. Our licensed electricians and electrical contractors provide homes and businesses with a variety of services, including repairs, maintenance, indoor and outdoor lighting, and more.

  • Why do my lights flicker?

Often it is just a faulty light bulb. However, it may be an indication of a more serious problem. Another reason for flickering lights includes large appliances starting up. If all your lights are flickering at once, that is concerning. This can be indicative of power arcing which can cause an electrical fire.

  • What are whole-house surge protectors?

A whole-home surge protector connects to your electrical panel and acts as a sort of electrical current filter. It allows safe electrical currents through while stopping high-voltage currents from getting into your home.

  • Does my property need to be rewired?

Your property needs to be rewired if it is an older property and has knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring or if you plan to expand or update large appliances that need more power to function.

  • Can you install generators?

Yes, we can install a whole-house generator for our customers. We are a Generac dealer too. If you are a commercial customer, we can install commercial generators, and then provide the necessary repair and maintenance services for your new generator.

  • What is the difference between two-pronged and three-pronged plug?

Three-pronged plug’s third prong are grounding prongs. That means that they have additional protection against electrical shock for you and your electrical system. Two-pronged plugs do not offer the same level of protection as three-pronged plugs.

  • Is a fuse box fine for my home?

No, fuse boxes are out-of-date. They cannot handle the electrical loads of modern appliances. You should upgrade to a circuit breaker electrical panel. Our licensed electrician provides electric panel upgrades throughout San Angelo, TX to ensure that homes and businesses are safe.
